Ozone London What a busy start to the year! Much planning has taken place during the past few months and we’re well into our strategic and financial planning for the coming year. This is a vital part of any business and you should also be planning your strategic growth and preparing budgets to continue your business success and help achieve your objectives and goals for the year ahead.

This year Ozone Coffee Roasters is in the final stages of opening our London coffee roastery and café, the result of much planning and hard work by all involved. Next issue we’ll feature some photos of our opening, but if you, friends, family or staff are ever in London, you’re very welcome to call in for a coffee and a tour.

I’m confident the expansion will continue to add value to our brand and you, as café and restaurant owners, will benefit from this international exposure through greater recognition of our coffee in your businesses.

Spicy Chai

We’ve also recently launched our own Spicy Chai powder, a marsala inspired Chai, blended from the finest ingredients to create a decadent blend of aromatic spices and exoticessences for a rich, smooth and full flavoured chai.

We love the flavours that reflect the rich and steeped traditions of Chai from origins in the Himalayas and southern Asia. If you haven’t already tried it, contact Nic or Jenna for a sample.

INTRODUCING THE OZONE TEAM

It has been a while since the faces of our truly talented and very handsome team have graced the pages of our newsletter. We figured it was about time to give you a peek. Over the next few issues we will be introducing ourselves so you can not only put a face to the voice behind the phone, but get to know the gifted people that keep Ozone Coffee Roasters running smoothly.

CHRIS WILLIAMS | FINANCE

Chris is our newest staff member. His role at Ozone Coffee Roasters is that of Finance Manager.

Those of you who have had the pleasure to talk to Chris on the phone already will have worked out he is not a local lad. Chris and his fiancée Anne moved here in August from Dublin, Ireland. Already Chris has done more during his short time here than some of us would dare to do in years. He recently scaled our beautiful mountain and cycled around it twice (yes, twice!) We extend both Chris and Anne a very warm welcome to our shores; we are just waiting for our NZ summer to do the same!

JEREMY MAXWELL | BEAN STORE

Jerry

Jeremy is the head barista in our bean store. Our vivacious Jeremy has been in the hospitality industry for six years and, in his words, gets paid to talk to people, does it get any better? Formerly a registered nurse, Jeremy is married to Jen (also a nurse) and together they have three adorable children. Outside of work Jeremy keeps busy with cross fit training and longboarding. He is also known to make a very decent coffee! If you are ever in our neck of the woods call in to our bean store and say hi, Jeremy will make you feel welcome!

NIC TOOLEY | CUSTOMER RELATIONS MANAGER

In her spare time you can be sure to spot Nic somewhere in the ocean competing in ocean swims or anything else that requires a lot of energy and motivation. Most of you know Nic as our Customer Relations Manager.
While this is still her role here at Ozone she is also now our barista trainer for the Central North Island, Kapiti, Wellington and the South Island. If you are located in these areas please contact Nic for any queries you may have, or if you require staff training.

JENNA BROM | NATIONAL BARISTA TRAINER

Jenna

Fresh back from an exciting extended trip to Thailand and Laos, Jenna is now ready to hit the road again to the rest of the North Island.

Jenna is your ‘go to person’ for training/account enquiries, so you will be hearing from her when she is next in your area. Super helpful and friendly, Jenna has extensive café and barista experience, and is always willing to answer any question you may have.

Our design team here at Ozone Coffee Roasters is constantly coming up with new and exciting ways to strengthen our brand and your brand. Now available are our new wall signs, like this one displayed in our Roastery training area. These are made of coated steel and ply and are able to sustain the elements outside your premises.

THE LAST DREGS | by Craig Macfarlane

Karla and I have just embarked on our overseas trip to London to open Ozone Coffee Roasters, London in Shoreditch on 5th March 2012. We are very excited about this opportunity to take our brand and philosophies to London in conjunction with our London business partners, Lizzie Bain and James Gurr, and Dallas & Erin Chadwick. The team, here in New Zealand, has been working diligently to ensure an accurate representation with an intention to provide our exceptional Ozone espresso to the London market. It has been incredible how many connections we have within such a large market so if you ever get the chance to look us up in London please be sure to advise us prior to your departure so we can shout you an espresso or two!

The New Zealand market still appears fragile with economic influences beyond our control still impacting on the profitability and confidence for some of our customers. We continue to support you any way we can and we are working constantly to ensure that our green bean purchasing is of the highest quality whilst still maintaining our traded fairly ethos with a competitive price point. Ozone continues to benchmark our product against competitors and believe that Paul Newbold does a fantastic job of providing a continually exceptional product.

I am also pleased to advise that Karla Gichard and Paul Newbold have recently become shareholders in Ozone Coffee New Zealand - a testament to their passion for Ozone Coffee, commitment and ability.
